Our Club
Waikanae Lions has been proudly serving the Waikanae community since 1973. We are a diverse group of selfless individuals committed to building a resilient community where well-being, our elderly, young minds and our environment matter.
Since 1973 it is estimated our Club has contributed over $1.5 million to a variety of community programmes. We gain a great deal of satisfaction knowing that we have made a difference to the community we serve. And, we enjoy lots of camaraderie and fun along the way.

Your helping hands will make a difference.
We warmly welcome new members and volunteers from all backgrounds and people of any age. There are two ways to get involved:
As a Member:
- Be part of our team
- Contribute your ideas
- Help drive change
As a Volunteer:
- Support our events
- Lend a hand when needed
- See the difference you make
If you are passionate about helping people and supporting our community, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to our President and Director of Membership & Wellbeing, Ann Ryder, or Contact Us by email.

Monty Python Day – A Totally Silly, Mad Day is Coming!
Saturday, October 5, 2025
11 a.m. to 7 pm
The Bond Store, Paraparaumu
rain or shine
This will be an annual fundraising community event held at the Bond Store in Paraparaumu. Inspired by the surreal comedy of Monty Python, the event combines fun competitions, themed activities, music, food, and local market stalls. Entry is free, with small donations for each activity going directly to Golf For Good, the organisation responsible for building the fabulous new mini golf course at Mazengarb Domain in Paraparaumu. The opening and welcome will be given by Tim Costley – MP for Ōtaki.
The Waikanae Lions together with other Kapiti Lions Clubs and Rotary will be lending their helping hands to make this event happen. All proceeds from the events will help fund the new mini golf course. It’s a win/win for the Kapiti Community.
