Air Force Charity Band Concert – another great success!

The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band Concert held in June was another great success, raising $10,000 for the Mary Potter Hospice. Over 400 people packed into Southwards Car Museum and enjoyed a wonderful show of band music, singing and all-round entertainment.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band brings world‑class music to the Kāpiti Coast in a vibrant celebration of talent, service, and community spirit. The RNZAF Band is one of the country’s premier musical ensembles, known for its exceptional musicianship and dynamic performances across classical, ceremonial, jazz, and contemporary styles. Their concerts attract audiences of all ages, offering an uplifting experience that blends precision, energy, and the joy of live music.

By hosting this special event for the 18th year, the Waikanae Lions continue their long tradition of supporting initiatives that strengthen and enrich the local community. Proceeds from the concert help fund Lions projects and services, ensuring the benefits of the evening extend well beyond the performance itself. The beneficiaries of this year’s concert will be Mary Potter Hospice who provide free specialist palliative care for people and families across Wellington.
